ROANOKE, Va. (July 25, 2012) – Carilion Clinic has been selected as a 2012 “Most Wired” healthcare system according to the Most Wired Survey and Benchmarking Study. Hospitals are named to the list based on a detailed scoring process. The survey evaluated hospitals on four factors: infrastructure, business and administrative management, clinical quality and safety, and clinical integration.

The goal of the survey is to benchmark health system’s progress with information technology and as a result, creates a snapshot of the use of IT in U.S. hospitals. Hospitals & Health Networks, the journal of the American Hospital Association, has published the “Most Wired” list annually since 1998 and Carilion has been named to the list nine times.
