While many productions celebrate the masterpieces of the Western tradition, others bring to life sounds from foreign cultures.


ORCHESTRAS AND ENSEMBLES
Experience the dramatic symphony orchestra, or engage in the melodic expressions of a talented string ensemble. .

Roanoke Symphony Orchestra is a nationally renowned symphony orchestra that performs throughout the year. From John Haydn to John Williams, the RSO performs Baroque to Cinematic masterpieces. The Kandinsky Trio is a chamber group founded in 1987 by Dr. Elizabeth Bachelder, Alan Weinstein and Benedict Goodfriend. VOICE
Representing the oldest form of musical expression, voice ensembles are everywhere. From Gregorian Chants to modern a capella, the Roanoke Region is rich in the art of song.

The Chorus of The Blue Ridge features a select group of singers performing several concerts each year. As a nationally renowned choral group, the Salem Choral Society was invited to perform at Carnegie Hall in 2008. The society performs classical hymns as well as interpretations of contemporary pop. 540.761.4727
