FREIGHT
More than 70 lines serve the Roanoke region with local, state and interstate service. UPS operates an air and ground hub, with its daily flight leaving at 10:30 p.m. Most of the US east of the Mississippi River can be reached with 1- or 2-day ground service. Federal Express also offers freight service out of the Roanoke Regional Airport.

AIR
Roanoke Regional Airport currently is served by 5 airlines offering approximately 60 arriving and departing flights per day with non-stop service to 8 cities, 7 by jet. See Air for a list of freight carriers.

RAIL

The Roanoke Region is served by Norfolk Southern and CSX. The region is located on the Heartland Corridor, a rail project which, when completed, will link The Port of Virginia with distribution markets in the Midwest. An I-81 intermodal facility is planned for the region.
