Cost of LivingThe Roanoke Valley's cost of living, according to the Council for Community and Economic Research's Cost of Living Survey. The Cost of Living Index is a voluntary survey, conducted quarterly by approximately 300 communities in the United States and Canada. The survey compares prices of 59 different goods and services within the categories of grocery items, housing, utilities, transportation, health care and miscellaneous.
